Tank Installations

Through our years of experience in installing all types of tanks for the construction industry, Caulfield Contractors has a team of a highly skilled and experienced work force who are dedicated to install a wide range of tanks including:

The team also carries out any required adjoining works to the tanks such as pipe work, chambers, pumping stations etc. The team also provide the service of upgrading deteriorating/outgrown tanks replacing old for new in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. 

Process Overview

The whole process is relatively straight forward and simple. Firstly the client supply us with information from a site survey, such as existing services and bore hole log information to assess ground conditions. This information along with the tank type, size and surround is passed on to our designers who then design the temporary works for the excavation. This is then approved by the client along with our risk assessments, method statements, lift plans etc before work commences. 

Once the permit to work is in place and the services are located work commences excavating the cofferdam using the 25T tracked excavator. As the excavation proceeds, the shoring (hydraulic frames and sheet piles) is installed as per method statement.

Now the excavation is complete and the shoring installed a concrete base is poured to act as support to the sheet piles after removal of the bottom hydraulic frame. The bottom frame is only removed once the concrete has cured to the correct strength. 

The tank is then lifted in to place, checked for line and level. 

With the tank now is place a surround is placed around the tank in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Finally the top frame and sheet piles are removed and any adjoining pipe work, chambers etc are constructed.
