Service Maintenance and Inspection
Caulfield Contractors owns all
its own plant and fleet vehicles. To achieve a high
standard of safety, service and maintenance and respectively
minimum downtime on site with have employed a full time
dedicated plant maintenance engineer.
Our plant maintenance engineer
has had his skills accredited under the Construction
Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) to NVQ level 3, Construction
Plant Maintenance.
The plant maintenance engineer
is also licensed under the Lifting Operations and Lifting
Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and the Provision and
Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) to carry out
inspections, testing and certification of all our lifting
tackle and lifting equipment.
Safety
The construction industry, by
virtue of the nature of work and the effect of weather
conditions, has always ranked as one of the more dangerous
industries.
Caulfield Contractors cares for
the safety of its employees, its neighbours ,the environment
we share and is committed to carrying out work which
is safe, secure and environmentally responsible.
Caulfield Contractors will seek
to eliminate, by all reasonably practical means, accidents
and hazards in or arising from its activities and create
and maintain safe and healthy conditions of work.
Caulfield Contractors recognises
the importance in taking ownership of health and safety
and in doing so has recruited its own in-house competent
health and safety advisor who is qualified with a NEBOSH
Dip 1 OSH in occupational safety and health and a member
of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
To assist in implementing our
safety management arrangements on site all our managers
have CITB safety management qualifications along with
Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) accreditation
in their relevant disciplines.
Our highly skilled workforce
have also had their skills recognised through the Construction
Industry Certificate Scheme to at least NVQ Level 2
standard. They are also qualified in other core areas
of training such as slinger/signaler, abrasive wheels
and confined space entry.
Environment
Caulfield Contractors are committed
to carrying out their work in an environmentally acceptable
and responsible manner.
As a demonstration of our commitment
to the environment we are running our entire fleet of
road going vehicles on Biodiesel, rather than conventional
fossil mineral diesel that is sold at the pumps.
Biodiesels are carbon neutral.
This means that the carbon they release when burned
is not adding to the net carbon output of the planet.
Conventional fuels such as petrol
and diesel emit other pollutants including nitrogen
oxide, carbon monoxide, benzene and particulates. These
are reduced by the use of biodiesel.
Through our work on site we prevent
environmental pollution by effective planning and on-site
procedures. This commitment focuses our efforts on making
every effort to minimize the pollution that we will
inevitably cause in the course of our work.
The Company recognises the potential
and actual effects of its works on the landscape and
ecological environment and are therefore committed to
the following considerations;
- Ensure that minimum disruption
and risk is caused to the local residents;
- Reduce as much as possible
the volume of construction traffic using the public
highways;
- Wherever practicable take
measures to reduce noise and visual impact of our
works;
- Always undertake work in such
a way as to preserve and protect the indigenous ecology
and habitats insofar as it is practicable, and cause
least damage to the environment as a whole.
Caulfield Contractors will manage
the risk to the environment resulting from our activities,
by anticipating such possibilities, being aware of our
responsibilities and by taking a proactive approach
to dealing with potential accidents.
Quality
Caulfield Contractors takes pride
in providing a quality service, tailored to meet the
needs of our clients.
Through the implementation of
effective and efficient management systems for all activities
we:
- carry out our tasks safely
and in an environmentally acceptable manner;

specification, time and price;

and suppliers ;
